Is it possible? You come across artists in all genres who say they are independent, but then you find out it's much more complicated that that. So how do you determine who is independent? He owns own masters but the studio decides what is on his album? She is allowed to have full creative control of her projects but she has to pay for distribution? He has written for major singers but she does backup singing to make ends meet?
